COVID-19 Protocols

Updated Jan. 21, 2021

Thank you for your support of my business over the years and through these difficult times. It’s great to have been recognized as an essential health provider and to be able to get back to connecting with you.

Here is an outline of what you can expect from the time you book your appointment until you join me in the treatment room and right up until you leave. This outline is from the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada (NHPC) Handbook for reopening, as well as in accordance with Alberta Health Services guidelines.

As of this update, you no longer need a prescription to get a massage. You can book your appointment directly without having to see your doctor beforehand.

You can schedule your appointment time on GenBook as usual, however please be five minutes early for your appointment. If you are up to 15 minutes late, your treatment will only be 45 minutes rather than the full hour, as we must keep to a strict schedule. Under AHS guidelines, I can only take three clients a day for a massage. Hours of operation are 10 a.m.–3 p.m.

I will be wearing a level 3 mask and face shield. You must wear a mask upon arrival and upon leaving. If you do not have one, we will provide one. Upon arrival, we will take your temperature.

I will have a COVID-19 Consent Waiver for you to read and sign. I need to have the signed waiver before your treatment can begin.

I don’t need to wear gloves, but I will be using hand sanitizer before and after your treatment. There will also be hand sanitizer in the reception area and the treatment room for your use. The treatment room will be thoroughly sanitized before and after each client.

After the treatment is completed, I will leave the room and you can dress. When you are ready, open the door, and I will come into the treatment room for payment. Unfortunately, we’ll have to keep the socializing to a minimum and you’ll need to depart the treatment room and reception area promptly.

If you are not feeling well, please cancel your appointment and rebook for another time. There will be no cancellation fee.

Thank you so much for abiding by all these conditions. I know it feels like a lot, but these are the rules we have to follow to stay open. We’re all in this together, and the sooner we overcome this virus, the sooner we can all get back to our normal daily lives.

Warm regards,

Lynn Mah, RMT
